Not all armored vehicles are created equal. Whether you're purchasing a new build or acquiring an existing one, it's critical to vet the supplier, the process, and the product itself. Below are key questions and considerations every buyer should review to ensure safety, performance, and long-term value:
Where was the vehicle physically armored?
Was the work performed at a verified manufacturing facility or by subcontractors?
Have you personally seen the facility where the vehicle was armored?
Transparency and access are essential signs of credibility.
Were in-process inspections conducted by a qualified subject matter expert?
If so, by whom, when, and are the results documented and available?
What quality certifications does the armoring company maintain?
Are they ISO 9001 or defense-contract certified?
Are full documentation packages provided with the vehicle?
Including:
In-process and final inspection reports
Material certifications and ballistic lot test reports
Vehicle acceptance test results
Was ballistic and/or blast testing conducted on this specific vehicle model?
If so, by whom, and is third-party test documentation available?
Does the armoring provide full 360-degree protection?
